  • This guide applies to the following deployment combinations, all of which use the same installation wizard:
    • Qodo single-tenant with GitHub Cloud
    • Qodo single-tenant with GitHub Enterprise Server
    • Qodo multi-tenant with GitHub Enterprise Server
  • Not sure which deployment model you need? See Install Qodo in your Git provider for a full comparison, or check your deployment type.
This guide walks you through installing Qodo on GitHub using the built-in wizard. Assuming your Qodo environment is already set up, the process takes about 5 minutes.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:
  • Access to your Qodo portal.
  • Sufficient permissions to create GitHub applications.

Access the GitHub integration

1
Log in to your Qodo portal. For single-tenant accounts, your portal URL follows the pattern app.yourcompany.st.qodo.ai and is provided by your Qodo Account Manager.
2
Start the installation wizard in one of the following ways:
  • From the onboarding wizard: If you’re an organization admin signing in for the first time, the onboarding wizard opens automatically. In the Connect Git step, select GitHub. See Set up Qodo with the onboarding wizard.
  • From the homepage: On the homepage, in the top right-hand side, click the + button next to Git providers. On the selection page, choose GitHub.
For GitHub Enterprise Server, select the self-hosted option that appears after you select GitHub.

Install Qodo using the wizard

The wizard guides you through three steps.
1

Connect GitHub

1
In GitHub Organization URL, enter your GitHub organization URL (for example, https://github.com/your-org). If you are using GitHub Enterprise Server, enter your server’s URL (for example, https://github.mycompany.com).
2
Review Permissions Qodo will ask for. The summary describes what Qodo does with its access: reads code and pull requests, posts review comments, replies when mentioned, and commits fixes on request. Expand the section to view the full app manifest. If you have questions about permissions or need adjustments, contact your Qodo Account Manager before proceeding.
3
Click Next.

Install Qodo

Click Continue on GitHub to open GitHub and complete the following steps.

In GitHub
1

Create the app

Review the app details Qodo filled in for you, keep the prefilled app name (Qodo for your organization name), and click Create GitHub App for [your organization name]. Then select the GitHub user account to authorize the app. If the displayed account is correct, click Continue. Otherwise, sign in with a different account.
2

Select repositories

Select which repositories Qodo can access: All repositories (recommended) or Only select repositories. You can later manage repository-level settings from the Qodo portal.

Click Install. You are redirected back to the Qodo portal.
3

Upload the logo (optional)

In the wizard, click Download logo. Then, in GitHub, open the Qodo app’s settings, upload the logo, and click Save. Qodo’s comments then show the logo in pull requests.
3

Verify connection

1
Check for the “GitHub is connected” message. The message shows how many repositories are connected. Qodo starts indexing them and their pull requests in the background to build context for code reviews.
2
Click Next.
If the wizard shows “GitHub isn’t connected yet”, click Try again. If it fails again, contact your Qodo Account Manager.

Qodo is now active on the selected repositories.
If you’re connecting your Git provider as part of the onboarding wizard, the wizard continues to the next onboarding step once the connection completes. See Set up Qodo with the onboarding wizard.

What happens after you connect

Qodo starts building context for your code reviews, and the following processes run automatically in the background: Track their progress from Background activity in the top-right corner of the portal. If a process needs attention, see Troubleshoot background processes.
It’s recommended to import your team’s existing rules and skills, which lets Qodo enforce your coding standards in its reviews. See Importing rules and skills.

Verify the installation

1
Open a new pull request in the configured repositories and confirm that Qodo is triggered automatically.
2
Add a comment using one of the supported commands:
  • /agentic_describe
  • /agentic_review
Qodo should respond with a review or PR summary directly on the pull request.

Manage repositories after installation

  • To add or remove repositories, navigate to your GitHub App settings and update which repositories the app can access.
  • To enable or disable Qodo on individual repositories within your current scope, use the Repositories page in the Qodo portal.
