# Migrate from the Qodo IDE plugin to the Qodo Agentic Toolbox

> Migrate from the Qodo IDE plugin to the Qodo Agentic Toolbox. Learn what changes on November 1, 2026, which users and IDEs are affected, and how to continue reviewing code locally.

The Qodo IDE plugin for VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, and Visual Studio Professional was retired on November 1, 2026. To continue reviewing code locally, use the Qodo Agentic Toolbox with a supported coding agent. Qodo pull request review is not affected.

The retirement applies to all Qodo plans, including Free, Teams, and Enterprise, and all deployment types, including multi-tenant, single-tenant, on-premises, and air-gapped deployments.

> **Try the Qodo Agentic Toolbox for free throughout November 2026.** Explore its capabilities and try local code reviews in your coding workflow.

## What changed on November 1, 2026

As of November 1, 2026, the Qodo IDE plugin is no longer available or functional:

* **Marketplace listings:** The plugin was removed from the VS Code, Open VSX, JetBrains, and Visual Studio marketplaces.
* **Existing installations:** The plugin is not automatically uninstalled, but you can no longer use it.
* **Plugin functionality:** Code reviews, agent interactions, code completions, and commit message generation are no longer available.
* **In-product notice:** Opening the plugin displays a retirement notice directing you to the Qodo Agentic Toolbox.
Reinstalling the plugin will not restore its functionality. Uninstall the retired plugin from your IDE.

## Use the Qodo Agentic Toolbox for local code review

The Qodo Agentic Toolbox is the recommended way to use Qodo capabilities in your coding agent. It supports workflows for understanding your codebase, applying coding standards, reviewing local changes, and resolving code review findings.

You can use the following skills independently or combine them in your workflow:

* **Codebase Wisdom:** Understand your codebase and get context for coding tasks.
* **Get Rules:** Retrieve relevant coding rules and standards for your work.
* **Review:** Review local code changes before opening a pull request.
* **Review Resolver:** Investigate and resolve findings from Qodo pull request reviews.
* **Manage Standards:** Manage your organization's Review Standards and rule suggestions from your coding agent.

The Agentic Toolbox works with coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Kiro. You can also connect other MCP-compatible clients.

For setup instructions, see the [Agentic Toolbox overview](https://docs.qodo.ai/agentic-toolbox/agentic-toolbox-overview.md).

## What is not affected

Qodo pull request review is not affected by the IDE plugin retirement. It continues to run automatically when you open a pull request.

Your existing Qodo pull request review workflow remains available.

## Before you migrate to the Agentic Toolbox

Before installing the Agentic Toolbox, make sure you have access through your Qodo workspace.

Your workspace admin controls access to the Agentic Toolbox in the Qodo portal. If you can't access it, contact your workspace admin. For details, see [Manage access to the Agentic Toolbox](https://docs.qodo.ai/agentic-toolbox/manage-access-to-agentic-toolbox).

Additional requirements:

* You can install the Agentic Toolbox without a Qodo account, but you need a Qodo account to use its skills.
* The CLI requires Node.js 20 or later.
* On-premises customers can find their installation command on the Qodo portal home page.

## Choose your setup

The Qodo Agentic Toolbox is generally available. Choose the integration or interface that fits your workflow.

For setup instructions, see the relevant integration guide.

## Migrate in three steps

1. **Install the Qodo Agentic Toolbox.** Choose the CLI, MCP integration, or a supported coding agent.
2. **Configure your agent.** Add the [default template](https://docs.qodo.ai/agentic-toolbox/agentic-toolbox-overview.md#default-template) to your agent instruction file, such as `AGENTS.md` or `CLAUDE.md`.
3. **Run your first local review.** Use the Review skill to review your changes before opening a pull request.

After migrating, you can uninstall the Qodo IDE plugin from your IDE.

## Suggested workflows

You can use Agentic Toolbox skills independently or combine them into workflows for building features, reviewing changes, and debugging issues.

For examples, see [Suggested workflows for Agentic Toolbox](https://docs.qodo.ai/agentic-toolbox/agentic-toolbox-suggested-workflows.md).
